What it is

Hydrolock is a lightweight hydrating serum built around a multi-weight hyaluronic acid complex. "4D" and "ultra-low molecular weight" refer to using hyaluronic acid in several molecular sizes: larger molecules hold water on the surface for an immediate plumping effect, while smaller (ultra-low weight) fragments sit within the upper layers of the skin for deeper, longer-lasting hydration. This layered approach is what the brand credits for "up to 72 hours" of hydration.

It is a water-based, oil-free serum suitable for all skin types — including oily and blemish-prone skin that wants hydration without heaviness. It sits early in a routine, before heavier creams and oils.

What it does

Hydrates: Multi-weight hyaluronic acid, glycerin and saccharide isomerate draw water into the skin for an immediate plumped, smoother look.
Multi-depth: Larger HA hydrates the surface; ultra-low weight HA reaches deeper layers for a longer-lasting effect and softer fine lines.
Supports the barrier: Inulin, fructose and glucose add prebiotic sugars that support the skin's surface and hydration barrier.
Realistic role: A hydrated skin surface looks smoother and reflects light better, so skin appears more radiant. This is a hydrating serum, not an anti-ageing or brightening treatment.

How to use

When: Apply to clean skin, ideally while slightly damp — humectants like HA work best when there is water available to bind.
How much: Apply 1–2 pipettes to the face, neck, décolletage and backs of the hands, and massage until absorbed.
Seal it in: Always follow with a moisturiser to seal in the hydration. Without an occlusive layer on top, HA can draw moisture from deeper skin in very dry air. In the morning, finish with SPF.
Frequency: Suitable for AM and PM, and layers well under other serums and creams.

What each ingredient does

Ingredients are listed on the pack in order of concentration (highest first) down to about 1%; below that they can appear in any order. Some grouped rows below combine related ingredients for readability. Water, glycerin and hyaluronic acid lead the list, confirming this is a genuine, humectant-focused hydrating serum.

Ingredient

Role

What it does

Aqua (Water)

Base / solvent

The base that carries and dissolves the other ingredients.

Glycerin

Humectant

A proven hydrator that draws water into the skin. Second on the list, so present at a meaningful level.

Hyaluronic Acid

Humectant — hero active

The key ingredient. A moisture-binding molecule that holds many times its weight in water for plumper, smoother-looking skin.

Saccharide Isomerate

Humectant (long-lasting)

A plant-sugar moisturiser that bonds to the skin surface and holds hydration for hours — supports the '72-hour' claim.

Glycogen

Hydrating / conditioning

A polysaccharide that boosts surface hydration and skin vitality.

PPG-26-Buteth-26 / PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil

Solubilisers

Help dissolve and evenly distribute the fragrance and other ingredients in the water base.

Cellulose Gum / Xanthan Gum / Cellulose

Thickeners / texture

Plant-derived gums that give the serum its light gel slip and keep it stable.

Inulin / Fructose / Glucose

Prebiotic / humectant sugars

Sugar-based ingredients that hydrate and can support the skin's microbiome.

Didecyldimonium Chloride

Preservative / conditioning

Helps preserve the formula and adds a conditioning effect.

Parfum (Fragrance)

Fragrance

Provides scent. The most likely trigger for sensitivity in reactive skin.

Linalool / Limonene

Fragrance components

Natural fragrance molecules; common allergens that must be declared. Worth noting if you are fragrance-sensitive.

Citric Acid / Sodium Citrate

pH adjusters

Balance the pH so the serum is stable and comfortable on skin.

Sodium Benzoate / Potassium Sorbate

Preservatives

A mild, food-grade preservative system that keeps the product safe in use.

Good to know

Get the most from it: Apply to damp skin and always layer a moisturiser over the top so the humectants pull water in rather than out.
Fragrance: Contains fragrance plus declared allergens (linalool, limonene). Patch test first if you have reactive or fragrance-sensitive skin.
Realistic expectations: This is a hydrator — it plumps and smooths but does not exfoliate, brighten or treat wrinkles. Pair it with your active treatments (e.g. a retinol at night) rather than expecting it to replace them.
Safety: For external use only. Avoid the eyes; rinse with water if contact occurs. Discontinue if irritation occurs. Store below 40°C. Best used within 6 months of opening.
