What it is

Future Yield C20 is a high-strength antioxidant serum built around 20% L-ascorbic acid — the purest, most researched and most potent form of vitamin C. It combines it with vitamin E (tocopherol) and ferulic acid, the well-studied trio that stabilises the vitamin C and boosts its antioxidant and photoprotective power. A second, more stable vitamin C derivative (sodium ascorbyl phosphate) is added to extend the benefit.

This is a morning "protect and brighten" serum: it defends the skin against daily free-radical and UV-related stress, gradually evens tone, softens dark spots and supports firmness. It suits most skin types, though the 20% strength can feel strong on very sensitive or reactive skin.

What it does

Antioxidant protection: The vitamin C / E / ferulic acid trio neutralises free radicals from UV and pollution, complementing (not replacing) your SPF.
Brightens: Vitamin C inhibits excess pigment production, helping to fade dark spots and even skin tone over weeks of use.
Supports collagen: Vitamin C is a cofactor for collagen synthesis, supporting firmness and a smoother surface over time.
Realistic timeline: Results are gradual and cumulative — expect visible brightening over 8–12 weeks of consistent morning use.

How to use

When: Use in the morning on cleansed skin, before moisturiser and SPF. Antioxidants work best under sunscreen during the day.
How much: Apply a few drops to the face and neck. Start every other day if your skin is sensitive, then build to daily.
SPF pairing: Always follow with a broad-spectrum SPF. Vitamin C boosts sun protection but does not replace sunscreen.
Avoid stacking: Don't layer directly with other strong actives (e.g. a retinol or acids) in the same routine — use vitamin C in the AM and your retinol at night.

What each ingredient does

Ingredients are listed on the pack in order of concentration (highest first) down to about 1%; below that they can appear in any order. Some grouped rows below combine related ingredients for readability. Ascorbic acid sits second on the list, consistent with the high 20% strength; ferulic acid and vitamin E are the classic stabilising partners.

Ingredient

Role

What it does

Aqua (Water)

Base / solvent

The base that carries and dissolves the other ingredients.

Ascorbic Acid (L-Ascorbic Acid)

Hero active — Vitamin C

The purest, most potent form of vitamin C. Second on the list, consistent with the '20%' strength. A powerful antioxidant that brightens, evens tone and supports collagen.

Propanediol

Humectant / solvent

Hydrates and helps keep the vitamin C dissolved and penetrating well.

PPG-26-Buteth-26 / PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil

Solubilisers

Help dissolve and evenly disperse the oils and fragrance in the water base.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate

Vitamin C derivative

A more stable form of vitamin C. Extends antioxidant benefit and is gentler than pure ascorbic acid.

Ferulic Acid

Antioxidant / stabiliser

Boosts and stabilises vitamin C + E, improving photoprotection. A well-evidenced partner in this classic trio.

Tocopherol (Vitamin E)

Antioxidant

Works synergistically with vitamin C and ferulic acid to enhance antioxidant protection.

Mandarin Peel Oil (Citrus Nobilis)

Fragrance / antioxidant

Provides natural scent; a citrus oil, so a potential sensitiser for reactive skin.

Sunflower Seed Oil (Helianthus Annuus)

Emollient

A light, antioxidant-rich oil that conditions and improves feel.

Sodium Hydroxide

pH adjuster

Balances the pH — important, as vitamin C needs a low pH (~3.5) to be effective and stable.

Limonene / Linalool

Fragrance components

Natural fragrance molecules and declared allergens. Worth noting if fragrance-sensitive.

Benzoic Acid / Dehydroacetic Acid / Phenoxyethanol

Preservatives

The preservative system that keeps the product safe and fresh in use.

Good to know

Storage matters: High-strength L-ascorbic acid oxidises when exposed to air, light and heat. Store it upright, below 20°C (ideally refrigerated), away from sunlight, and replace it if it turns deep yellow/brown — that means the vitamin C has degraded.
Low pH / potency: Because it needs a low pH to work, this serum can tingle or feel active. Mild tingling is normal; persistent stinging or redness means reduce frequency.
Fragrance: Contains fragrance including citrus oil plus declared allergens (limonene, linalool). Patch test if you have reactive or fragrance-sensitive skin.
Safety: For external use only. Avoid the eyes; rinse with water if contact occurs. Discontinue if irritation occurs. Best used within 6 months of opening — vitamin C serums have a shorter shelf life once open.
